We didn't realize that there would be a "no shorts /no T-shirts / no sandals / no sneakers" dress code for dinner at Le Touessrok hotel until we arrived at the hotel and were reading about the hotel's facilities in our room. No one I'd talked to when we were making the reservation told us we should pack nice clothes. The fact that there was a dress code really turned off us - we weren't happy at all about having to get dressed up while on holidays. But, since the hotel information said that you wouldn't be allowed into dinner unless you were dressed right, Seth was forced to buy some clothes at the hotel's gift shop. The clothes he found were nothing special, but he did pick out a most excellent hat for me!

I figure that this colonial-style hat is the perfect hat for the safari I hope to go on one day! I also liked it alot and wanted to wear it around the hotel. However, Seth (even though he'd originally suggested I try it on) was embarrased to see me go to dinner wearing this hat with my dnner outfit. Personally, I thought it matched the outfit that I scrounged together in order to meet the dress code. Every night, I went wearing Seth's white button up shirt and a blue sarong with white shells on it that I'd bought in Thailand for about 50 cents.

I was carrying my hat when we flew back to Singapore. And both the immigration officer and the taxi driver commented on how nice of a hat it was! Ha Ha Seth.
