Pool Day

So we're sitting down by the pool on a lazy Sunday afternoon.  Tomorrow is my last full day customer services.  I should have gone into work already but just can't bring myself to do it on such a nice day.  I don't know how I feel about leaving Customer Services after nearly 12 years of it, but I know I'm glad to be getting out of this department here. I'm still not quite sure what Change Mangement will bring, but it's gotta be better than this. The breeze brings a whiff of clorine and it seems like a hotel pool in many ways.  Tara is studying Japanese, as she has obsessively for the last couple of months.  She's making real headway.  We had talked about going out to a trip somewhere in Japen this weekend, but decided to just stay in and enjoy the neighborhood.

To that end, we went out yesterday and walked to Shibuya.

The walk was nice and along the way we found a really nice park with a waterfall.  On the top part of the park, as we walked along, we heard a loud meowing.  It was a white cate that had decided that we needed to be the ones to pay attention to her.  Tara, of course, didn't like this one bit :).  It was very friendly and seemed very healthy.  I think Tara would have brought it home if we could have had pets.

We continued to walk and also discovered a bus route that went from Shibuya to a nearby stations that I can spell, Daikanyama.  Shopping was interesting but Shibuya was too crowded for my tastes.  After getting some cash from Citibank, we went to McDonald's because we (Seth) wanted food NOW.  We got great seats that looked out over the road.  It was enjoyable to watch the people go by and especially the women in their really high shoes.

We came home on the local bus and Seth took a nap as Tara studied out on the balcony.  We then went out to a small (and I do mean small) Indian place in Nakameguro near the station.  We sat outside at the table.  There was a cook and the waitress left about halfway through our meal.  The spicy chicken was good, but the best part of the mel was the nan bread.  Quite light and ymmy.  We'll go back.  But the place would probably be considered a 'dive' or 'dodgy' in most places of the world.  Here it's just considered to have character.  The evening ended with me installing Internet Explorer 4 as Tara fell asleep on the bed that needed to have new sheets put on it.
